A Darling diy Wedding, Part Two

Most of the images in the post were lovingly photographed by my friend Lupita Martinez, owner of Images of Rain Photography in San Antonio. She did a beautiful job!

A Darling DIY Wedding Part Two

Ah… just looking at these pictures puts the biggest smile on my face! The Darling DIY Wedding of Trevor and Rachel, Part Two. (See part one here.) I mentioned in part one that this extra special event was made possible by the combined efforts of dear family and friends. We are forever grateful!!

Okay. I’m just going to start with two of my favorite touches of the wedding. The fairy lights and the flowers. Magical really is the only way to describe the little battery-operated fairy lights, which I ordered from Amazon. I underestimated the soft elegance they would add to the tablescapes. And now I can HARDLY WAIT to use them in my own home! (yes, I own quite a few strands of these beauties now!)
Fairy Lights are magical! We used them at Trevor and Rachel's wedding and now I use them for holidays and entertaining! TablerPartyofTwo.com

The flower arrangements consisted of gigantic peonies, antique roses and olive branches I cut from olive trees in our yard in Palm Desert! Oh, and I LOVE the gold curly sticks in each! We were so blessed for all the floral arrangements and tablescapes to be created by the Morrisons’ friend Mary and our friend Janis. They beautifully executed it all perfectly according to Rachel’s requests. Rachel created and framed all the table numbers. She also painted the bases of all the vases gold and embellished the votives with gold glitter.

I loved the way the party favors turned out! And the contents were super yummy… a combo of cheddar cheese and caramel popcorn! I would not have come up with that idea. But my hubby did! He was spot on. The coral boxes were from Oriental Trading with cellophane bags from  Amazon and ribbon from Hobby Lobby. I created the monogrammed tags and the fabulous Morrison family assembled them all!

DIY Wedding Favor

I designed the wedding program fans (much-needed for a hot, sticky outdoor Texas wedding!), and my friend Gina and her daughters (our “nieces”!) put them together for us, little tiny bows and all!

Wedding Program Fan

I created the menu cards to match the wedding program fans.

Menu Card & Painted Flatware

Okay… can I just say that one of the most time-consuming details of the entire wedding was the painted flatware. Rachel personally spray painted every piece by herself! Bless her heart, she was doing it for weeks and weeks on end… every minute she wasn’t working or sleeping and when it wasn’t raining in Dallas (now that was a challenge during the spring of 2015!). But they were an extremely cost-effective flatware solution, as she got most of it at Goodwill for a few cents each.

Wedding Tablescapes

Rachel and Trevor each had a featured signature drink at the reception. Rachel wanted hers to match the wedding colors (well, of course!) and Trevor went with his old favorite, Fireball and coke. My friend Jill created the precious signage.

Wedding Signature Drink Signs

I loved the table with the guest book and seating arrangements. Rachel showcased pictures from our wedding and her parents’ wedding, a sweet touch! Trevor made the chicken wired frame for the seating arrangements. The guest book was a really cute photobook featuring pictures of the couple’s courtship and engagement pics.

Another one of my favorite touches at the wedding was Rachel’s idea to have a little basket on each table with cards on which guests could write marital advice, secrets to happiness, love notes and other fun sentiments.

Marital Advice Cards

Is this the sweetest, or what?!!

Love Letters from the Reception

Okay. I think you’re probably ready to end your trip down my memory lane. Yes, it’s getting to long. You know what that means? I’ll have to do one more! Stay tuned.

xoxo,
