Cheers to Stress-Free Entertaining with Holiday Sangria

Entertain Stress Free this holiday season with and Holiday Sangria.

When the temperatures begin to cool a bit, I start day dreaming about holiday entertaining. I love to throw a good party… it’s a passion of mine! I revel in the details of an intimate gathering of friends and family that makes everyone feel special and appreciated.

Simple, intentional party planning ensures a gathering that you can enjoy just as much as your guests do. Here are the guidelines I follow to plan a memorable yet stress-free holiday party.

1. Pick a theme that helps pull the gathering together, from food and drinks to invitations, decorations, and party favors.

2. Decide on two or three easy DIY touches to make the soiree special. A few examples of these are centerpieces, drink tags, banners, and chalkboard signage.

3. Plan the party around a delicious assortment of heavy appetizers (hot and cold) rather than a sit-down dinner.

4. Serve wine, beer and a signature drink rather than stocking a full bar.

5. Send everyone home with a small gift or memento. It doesn’t have to be elaborate or expensive. Pretty candy in cellophane with a ribbon or a simple ornament with a holiday tag are two easy options.

For wine at my parties, I serve cabernet and chardonnay from Wente VineyardsOne of my go-to signature drinks for entertaining is sangria. There are so many creative ways to make a great sangria!

For Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations and parties, I like to serve a holiday sangria with fresh fruit, red wine, and sparkling apple cider. Wente Vineyards Southern Hills Cabernet is my delicious, affordable, red wine of choice… whether poured in a stemless glass or in a sangria recipe.

The Wente family journey is so inspiring! I love this this awesome Facebook video where 5th-generation winemaker Karl D. Wente compares his love of wine making with the making of music, his other passion.
