Our little football fans! Tabler Party of Two

It’s true. Empty nesters treat their dogs like kids. (And this empty nest mom isn’t too proud to admit that!)

Staying active in the desert! Tabler Party of Two

Yes, we adore our two terriers: Rosie (our two-year-old cairn) and Rowdie (our nine-year-old westie). Whether at our Palm Springs area home or on our live-aboard boat in the San Diego Bay, these two dogs lead a decidedly charmed, active, and adventurous life!

In the desert, we frequently hike, take walks to the nearby outdoor shopping and dining area, El Paseo, and golf cart rides to a golf course (after golf hours, of course) to run free and play fetch. And Rosie likes to run alongside Tom while he skateboards!

On weekends, we head to our little yacht in San Diego christened “Sea Y’all.” Rosie, who is adventurous at heart, immediately took to the yacht life when we bought our boat. Rowdie took a bit longer to acclimate to living on the water, but now he appears to love it as much as Rosie does!

Our second home... Sea Y'all! Tabler Party of Two

Sometimes we head out on leisurely morning cruises on Sea Y’all, where the pups like to hang out up on the fly bridge next to Captain Tommy. They like the amazing view they get being up high!

But more frequently, we zip around in our dinghy, named Hey Y’all. (And, yes, everyone we pass yells, “Hey, y’all!)

We cruise around the bay, check out the sea lions, moor our boat to a dock and grab a bite to eat at one of the dock ‘n dine spots on the bay, and partake in all kinds of other fun weekend adventures.

There is never a dull moment on the water!

When we aren’t on the water, we head over to the Littly Italy Farmer’s Market, take a long walk on the boardwalk, or visit the fresh fish market on the pier.

What’s important to us (whether we are in the desert or at the boat) is for our pooches to stay active. And, like us humans, active dogs need the right kind of fuel… especially protein!

Thankfully we’ve found a protein-rich, nutrient-dense dog food (that we trust) for our discriminating pooches: Rachel Ray™ Nutrish® PEAK™ Dog Food. It’s available in both dry and wet versions. Rosie and Rowdie are huge fans!

Their favorite is the Nutrish PEAK Wetlands Recipe™ with Chicken, Duck & Pheasant. And guess what they like even more than that? When I top it with Nutrish PEAK Wetlands Recipe with Chicken & Duck in Rustic Gravy! (yep, they’re all about gravvvvvvvy!)

I’m glad Rosie and Rowdie love Nutrish PEAK Dog Food. But, more importantly, Tom and I also love it (for different reasons, of course!) Nutrish PEAK dry food contains 30% high-quality protein and 0% grains, glutens or fillers. Nutrish PEAK wet is made with real chicken combined with protein-rich duck, beef or lamb that pups LOVE!

Where to Find Nutrish PEAK

I’ve been noticing Nutrish PEAK on shelves all over the place. I bought mine with a coupon at my local PetSmart, where I found it on a huge island full of Rachael Ray products as well as on the first dog food aisle.

Rosie and Rowdie give it two paws up. I bet your pup will, too!
