Fifty, Not Frumpy, Friday

I’m no fashion expert, but I know I feel more confident when I put some thought into what I wear. Fifty, not frumpy, is my style motto!

California didn’t get the memo that fall arrived a few weeks ago. I want to dress in autumn colors but it’s certainly not time for sleeves, scarves or sweaters! I set out last week to find some inexpensive additions to my wardrobe that look like fall but feel like summer. A quick trip to Nordstrom Rack and TJ Maxx had me set.

NewShotThis top from TJ is perfect for the season, with its fall colors and light fabric.

These Paige jeans from Nordstrom Rack are my absolute favorites right now. Love the zippers!

Perfect outfit for a beautiful fall day in Los Angeles.

This Storybook Bracelet is also from Carole’s Art, and each one is unique. Mine has a cross and sea inspired silver charms. The Anthropologie purse is old but I still love it because it’s so soft.

I found these metallic gold and leopard Kate Spade shoes at TJ also. You don’t even want to know the price I paid… a steal! They are super comfy and are perfect with both jeans and a little black dress.

Hoping your weekend is blessed with unexpected delights! And remember, be fifty, not frumpy!

Great outfit! Top is really unique and cute on you, good choice for hot fall weather and to show off those crossfit shoulders. I was recently at TJ’s and Nordstrom Rack and picked up some nice things too. My outfit will have to wait until we get cooler weather here in the desert.

  2. Super fun look on the whole outfit. It does look transitional while still keeping you cool enough. The last adjective that comes to mind is “frumpy”!

    • Hi Jess- thanks for stopping by! I love your blog! Very inspiring. I was diagnosed with Raynauds and Mixed Connective Tissue Disorder a year and a half ago. I have bouts of chronic pain, but not terribly bad so far. The Raynauds has really setting down since I moved from Texas to Palm Desert! A huge blessing. I look forward to connect on FB and elsewhere! Have a great Monday. xoxo
