2015 Jewelry Trend & Giveaway

Everywhere I go these days, I’m spotting a hot, 2015 jewelry trend of pieces featuring druzy, crystal and stone.  You’ll see them in necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings from the likes of Kendra Scott, David Yurman, Alexis Bittar and others. Available in a wide variety of texture and color, they are beautiful statement pieces!

Though the trend has grown in popularity in 2015, many have been appreciating the workmanship and natural look of this jewelry for years. One of those individuals is Carole Weaks, owner of Caroles Art on Etsy. And… she just happens to be my mama! Today I’m joining Pam Lutrell from Over Fifty Feeling Forty to showcase some of Carole’s one-of-a-kind, designer statement jewelry. And we’ll be giving you an opportunity to win two of Carole’s original creations!

If you’ve been following my style posts over the last few months, you’ve already seen several of Carole’s pieces. For my birthday in September, I was blessed with two Caroles Art presents from my mom. First I received this “unique-to-Andrea” Storybook Bracelet. This bracelet is made from beads, stones, antiqued bronze wire, and charms that tell a story. She actually sculpts the wire herself! Head over to Carole’s Etsy shop to see another example and inquire about having one made that is unique to you!

Next my mom pulled out a slew of necklaces and let me pick the one I wanted for my birthday. Here’s the one I chose.

She told me it was one of the most rare and valuable pieces she’d ever worked with because of the organic shape of the Feather White Plume Agate. This image was taken back in my iPhone photography days, so here’s a better view of this stunning necklace.

Isn’t the antique bronze chain simply perfect with this stone?

I “borrowed” a couple of other pieces from Carole recently. I was smitten with this Botryoidal Azurite Pendant with sterling chain. (Thankfully I only needed to type that first word and didn’t have to pronounce it!) It is still available, and you can see an up-close picture and/or order it here.

I reluctantly gave that one back to her after enjoying it on our boat ride in Newport Beach. What a shame… seriously โ€” could it go any better with my shirt???

I also borrowed another White Plume Agate necklace, and this one is still available as well. It hangs on a longer chain made of antique brass, and the agate has small druzies on the front. Carole added a Tibetan Key as well as crystal and gold beads for color and interest. Again, this picture doesn’t show the beautiful details but this one does.

For Christmas Mom gave me this very cool bracelet made of copper wire art with turquoise magnesite.

Carole said it’s one of her wire art “masterpieces.” She loves working with wire and the challenge of its metal fluidity. And guess what? Next Monday I’ll be doing a giveaway for a bracelet just like this one! So be sure to visit Tabler Party of Two again then.

Well, I can’t very well show you all this gorgeous jewelry without showing you the amazingly talented woman behind it!

2015 jewelry trend

Carole started making jewelry from stones in 2011. She learned how to cut and polish stones first, then she began to sculpt wire and weave many of her own chains. Carole frequently creates special order pieces for her clients. Often they go to her studio to pick out their stones, chains, and wire art, making the process special for both her and her clients. Although her pieces are by nature one-of-a-kind, she can certainly design a beautiful piece of jewelry inspired and similar to the jewelry featured in this post. Except my amazing, birthday White Plume Agate necklace. She has never seen another stone like it and may never again find a stone with that organic shape!

Before you head to the giveaway, I hope you’ll stop by Over Fifty Feeling Forty to see Pam show off her new creation from Carole, this golden quartz heart pendant necklace.
